POKER AROUND THE LAKE (and through the rain)

What better way to end a rainy 4th of July weekend, than caravaning around Lake Ponchatrain with a bunch of beautiful Corvettes in the rain??? Well, the rain wasn't that bad....at least it wasn't all day. We started with 21 Corvettes and one SUV in Kenner, and picked up one more participant along the way in Slidell. The weather held out long enough for us to look good cruising the I-10 to Slidell. We even made it to the Abita Brew House without a drop. Only a few drops could be felt on the way to Hammond....but that ride back to Lacombe to Sal & Judy's....that's another story!!!

We had participants from Baton Rouge all the way to Slidell show up at this year's GNOCC Poker Run. The stakes were high as we decided to give out cash awards this year! After stops at Sonic, Starbucks, Abita Brew House, Lee's Drive In, and Sal & Judy's, the best hands belonged to Rose Mary Palmisano with a Full House, Felix Sherman Jr. with a Straight, and Eric & Lauren Tagesen with 2 Pair.

Thanks to all who braved the weather to participate! These type of activities are so much fun when we have such a great turn out of Corvettes and people! I have to thank Ralph Adams, Marty Straub, Earl Mendoza, and Lauren Tagesen for helping arrange the participating businesses this year, and working the registration and card drawings.
